Secure Verifiable Data Destruction
3 Primary Methods
Degaussing
Data elimination involves the use of a high energy degausser that totally ‘cooked’ the data on a magnetic storage device within seconds to make it unusable. This method is irreversible making the whole physical media unusable.
- Uses a high-energy degausser to permanently erase magnetic data.
- Irreversible – device becomes unusable.
- Time required – 3 seconds per media.
Acts as digital witness
This method is effortlessly performed by IRONCLAD®. Our exclusive erasure verification system tracks, logs, and documents media as it is sanitized. Customizable Certificates of Erasure and Destruction, complete with JPG images of the media before and/or after destruction, provide proof the media was properly sanitized.
- IRONCLAD® erasure and destruction verification system.
- Captures image of erased data and generates a certificate of erasure report.
- Works in-sync with our high energy degausser.
Physical destruction
Media destruction involves physically destroying the storage device to render it unusable and make the data irretrievable.
This can include drilling, shredding, or disintegrating the storage devices. Media destruction is often used for highly sensitive data or when other methods of data destruction are not feasible, such as with certain types of storage media.
- Drilling and hammering
- Shredding/Disintegrating
Hard Drive Shredding
High-Performance Hard Drive Shredding
Our Process
Enroute for Off-Site Shredding
A bank branches out of service an old batch of 500 hard drives. Alpha Scope’s crew arrives with tamper‑evident bins, seals them in front of the branch manager, and logs the asset tags before departure.
STEP 1
Collection
Our specially trained staff will come to your site and pick up the drives or devices. We use secure, sealed containers so nothing can be tampered with en route.
STEP 2
Transportation
Drives are transported in secure vehicles to eliminate risks of data breaches during transit to Alpha Scope Secure Data Destruction processing facility.
STEP 3
Verification
Upon arrival, each drive is logged and verified to ensure accurate tracking and accountability.
STEP 4
Shredding
Hard drives are destroyed using our high-performance industrial shredder with a particle cut size of 5mm to 18mm, ensuring complete, irrecoverable destruction.
STEP 5
Recycling
Shredded materials are processed and recycled in an environmentally responsible manner.
STEP 6
Certification
A Certificate of Destruction is issued to prove compliance - important for audits or legal requirements, confirming complete and secure data destruction.
